American Center for CuresPrivacy

Privacy.

We never ask for the name of the person you are waiting for. This page says what The Cures Pledge does collect, what it publishes, and what it never does.

The Waiting List

When you add yourself, the site records three things: your relationship to the person you are waiting for (for example, “my mom”), an optional disease category you may skip, and your zip code. We never ask for a diagnosis or a medical record.

Your zip code places you in a congressional district. District counts are published as totals only. The list behind them is never published, sold or shared.

Videos on the wall

A video stays on your device unless you choose to send it to the wall. When you send one, we store the video, the name you type to show under it, and the optional place and line you add. Videos sent to the wall are public and appear on this site. Anyone with a video’s link can watch it. We take down videos that name a candidate or party, attack anyone, or are not suitable for everyone. To have your video removed, write to us.

Asking a candidate

When you email or post to a candidate from this site, we count that it happened, with the channel and district. We do not record who you are or what you wrote.

Candidates and campaigns

Campaigns that answer the question give us a contact email so we can confirm the answer came from the campaign. Answers are published in full, word for word, with the date they arrived. The contact email is not published.

What we never do

We never sell or share the Waiting List, never ask for medical details, and never use what you give us to tell anyone how to vote. The American Center for Cures does not support or oppose any candidate for public office.
